Beyond the Hype uses limited analytics to understand whether its reporting is useful and Google AdSense to fund the publication. This page explains those services and the choices available to readers.

Information processed automatically
When you visit, ordinary web infrastructure receives information such as your IP address, browser and device information, requested page, time, referrer, and diagnostic data needed to deliver and protect the site. The publication does not provide reader accounts or comments and does not ask readers to submit profile information.
Email subscriptions
If you request the Weekly Newsletter, the site temporarily stores your email address, a one-way digest of a random confirmation token, and its creation and expiry times on the publication server. The pending request expires after 24 hours. Opening a confirmation link does not subscribe you; you must deliberately confirm on the page.
After confirmation, Resend processes your email address, Weekly Newsletter topic status, delivery events, and related technical information to provide the mailing service. One consolidated edition is normally sent each week. Every edition includes Resend-managed preference and unsubscribe controls. The publication does not put email addresses in analytics events or ordinary application logs, and it does not sell its subscriber list.
Resend may process information in the United States and other locations described in itsprivacy policy. Confirmed subscription records are retained until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion, subject to limited suppression and compliance records that may be needed to respect your opt-out. You may make an access or deletion request using the contact address above.
Analytics
The site uses Google Analytics through Firebase to measure page views, navigation, article views, newsletter signup steps, and a meaningful-read event after a reader has spent at least 30 seconds in the foreground and reached 75% article progress. Newsletter events distinguish form start, submission, accepted confirmation requests, and coarse error categories. Events use article identifiers, page and form context, and response status where relevant; they do not include article prose, email addresses, confirmation tokens, raw search text, arbitrary outbound URLs, or arbitrary query parameters.
Google Signals and ad-personalization signals remain disabled in the analytics configuration. Where consent is required, analytics does not start unless the Google privacy message reports that the relevant consent purposes were granted or do not apply.
Advertising
The site uses Google AdSense on selected substantive articles. Google and participating advertising vendors may process device, network, page, and consent information to select and deliver ads, prevent invalid traffic, limit repetition, measure aggregate performance, and protect their systems. Ads are configured as non-personalized at launch, so they are not selected from a reader's past behavior by this publication. Contextual information, such as the current article, may still influence selection.
Non-personalized advertising can still use cookies, local storage, or identifiers for purposes such as frequency capping, aggregate reporting, and fraud prevention. Readhow Google uses information from sites that use its services and manage Google-level personalization inGoogle Ads Settings.
Consent and regional choices
Google Privacy & messaging provides the site's consent-management interface. Eligible visitors in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland can consent, refuse, or manage individual purposes and vendors. Relevant US-state visitors may receive an opt-out message. A refusal prevents this site from initiating its manual AdSense units and consent-gated analytics for the covered visit.
Change your privacy choices
Use the Privacy choices link in the footer to reopen the Google consent interface when it applies. If the interface is not available for your location or has not yet loaded, the link returns here. You can also clear cookies and site data through your browser or use the opt-out controls offered in a regional Google privacy message.
Retention, disclosure, and security
Google applies the retention and security settings of the connected Analytics and AdSense accounts. Technical logs may be retained by the hosting and proxy infrastructure for security, reliability, and abuse investigation. Newsletter state is stored in a server-only directory with restricted permissions, while Resend applies the safeguards and retention described for its service. Information may be disclosed when required by law, to protect the service and its readers, or to service providers operating under their own terms and data-protection obligations.
Children
This publication is intended for a general adult and professional audience and is not directed to children under 13. It does not knowingly ask children to provide personal information.
Changes
This notice may change when the publication, its vendors, or applicable requirements change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes will be reflected on this page before the new practice is treated as the site's normal operation.
